The Pundi X (NPXS) project has been ground breaking in so many ways. The first being the revolutionary Point of Sale devices that plan to make crypto payments easier for crypto users as well as merchants. The devices are continually being distributed around the globe to aid in the crusade for crypto adoption that will make crypto transactions mainstream.
Secondly, we saw the XPASS cards being issued to attendees of the Ultra Taiwan 2018 event. These cards allows users to conduct transactions just like how they use the regular metro top-up cards used for public transportation. A full public release has not been announced by the team at Pundi X, but the NPXS community is very much enthusiastic about the launch.
First Blockchain Based Phone Call
It is therefore not surprising that the team at Pundi X have demonstrated the first ever phone call made on the blockchain. The team did so at the ongoing XBlockchain Summit at the Inaya Putri, Bali. The two day event started yesterday, 9th October, and ends today, the 10th.
The phone call was made on the newest device by the team known as the XPhone.
The XPhone does not need a centralized mobile carrier to function. It runs on the new Function X blockchain by Pundi X. This chain by the team, plans on solving many of the issues being faced by traditional blockchains. This involves the issues of scaling, ability to publish DApp and achieve true decentralization. This blockchain will also revolutionize data transmission and bring about a truly decentralized internet.
The team goes on to explain Function X as follows:
Function X is not just a public chain. It is a total decentralized solution. It consists of five essential components: Function X OS, Function X Blockchain, Function X IPFX, FXTP Protocol, and the Function X Docker. All five have one sole purpose which is to decentralize all apps, website, communications and data.
The Function X OS is based off the Android OS 9.0 and has backward compatibility with Android Apps. The in turn makes it easy for developers with knowledge of the Android platform, to create DApps on the Function X blockchain.
Each device on the Function X ecosystem functions like a node and will have its own address and private key. The transmission of data runs on a complex exchange of public and private key data and encryption. The XPhone is currently available to phone manufacturers but detailed information on the Function X blockchain will be made available on the 15th of October.
What are your thoughts on the new phone by Pundi X? Will phone-calls on the blockchain provide the privacy every phone owner wishes for? Please let us know in the comment section below.
